IF YOU Q UP FOR SIEGE DO NOT GO AFK. Even for a second. You will royally screw your group and there will be repercussions.
We take our siege very serious. Please do not join the Q if you can not handle being part of a medium to long wait. Siege is still somewhat broken but its getting better every day, and we still hold on to the dream that they will fix the q like they promised on mod 10 drop. Please spread this siege tutorial far and wide. Siege is such a fun activity for a guild, and now that all guilds have access to hundreds of people siege should be popping left and right. The rewards are great for the coffer (almost better than dragonflight), the action is fun whether youre pvp or pve. Theres nothing like it in all of neverwinter. So I urge you, get this tutorial out there, get your guild into siege. You wont regret it.
First things first. your map. Its your best friend. I open my map a couple dozen times every round. While riding my horse even. You need to be a guided missile at all times. Being where you need to be at the appropriate time is over half of what wins the game. Pay very close attention because sometimes your west guild hall and sometimes your east.
When you first spawn, you are in your guild. There are 3 exits. They all go to the same place. Here at POG we call the lanes top, middle, and bottom. Where you go is up to you, this is where you will have to form your own strategy, but organized chaos does work.
Do you go heavy on middle together, control the lane, and then build the middle cat (catapult) so you can get a few early hits in? Or go for all 3 lanes? Its up to you and your guild. TBH we have crushed siege so hard we havnt had to make a strategy, but hopefully this tutorial will get out there and breath life into siege. We want a challenge, and we know you all can do it with practice and hard work. Never give up.
Also when you spawn, take note of the pile of gold and the horse cart. The pile of gold is where you deliver the golem coins. Collect more coins and your guild hall summons a dragon to attack the other guilds main hall and cats. Thats right, you get a mother f$%^%$^ dragon to fight for you. The dragon can be a game changer.
This is also very important. You receive one teleport scroll in your inventory. Use this wisely. It can get you back to your guild hall quickly to deliver some coins, or a real sneaky move to hit the horse cart up, grab some supplies, and get a cat up on a lane you own.
Like I mentioned earlier, being where you need to be is how you win the game. Playing defense/offense is up to your team leader. Do you swarm the enemies cat and bust it up to pieces? Or do you use the time to push forward on the lanes and build your own cats?
Last but not least to build your guilds over shield you put supplies in your coffer. You can get supplies from killing enemies with supplies, siege masters walking down the trail, horses, and from the horse cart at the spawn. Using your supplies correctly and not losing them to enemy forces is another huge factor in who gets the win.
If your PVE you arent useless. Grab horses. Deliver supplies. Be a lurker, watching and warning your guild of what is coming next. One of your most important tasks will be collecting and turning in dragon coins when the golems appear. Other than that, your useless till you get some tenacity! Lol jk....
So in closing, siege is hands down one of the funnest game modes of neverwinter. Theres nothing as fun as a close siege match and your cat hurling huge balls of flames just in the nick of time and securing the win. Close games are best games. I know neverwinter will do the right thing and fix the 39 of 40 glitch soon, and then we will be heaven. Until then, getting the word out there that you do love siege, and you want siege, will be enough for now. If your guild leader is not interested in siege, organize yourself. Get 20 people q'ed up and launch it. Message me on PSN, tell me you want a match, I can have 20 people together in 5 minutes, and remember, if you cant beat em, join em! hehe
